Policies

  1. Check-in Window: 3:00PM to 10:00PM

    • If arriving later than 10:00PM, please give us notice.​ We don't mind but we would like to plan ahead if necessary.

  2. Checkout Time: 11:00AM​

    • We only give our team a 4-hour window to complete all cleaning tasks. ​

  3. Cancellations: Full refund 5 days prior to arrival.​

    • We understand things come up and we will do our best to work with guests in tough situations. However, we also have staff that is scheduled days in advance and depend on the work to earn a living. We also feel it is unfair for prospective guests to miss out on a stay at The House Next Door, having to settle for somewhere less desirable.

 

House Rules

  1. No pets allowed. Apologies for the inconvenience, we love your pets but our house doesn't share the love. No exceptions.

  2. No smoking allowed. You may smoke outside with the door shut, but please pick up after yourself.

  3. No parties or events are allowed.

  4. Quiet Hours: M-TH 10pm, Weekends 11pm. Your hosts and neighbors have children and regular jobs, we ask guests to be mindful of this.

  5. ​Guests are welcome but please be mindful of quiet hours and absolutely no parties.

  6. We prefer shoes to be left at the door to help keep the house clean.

  7. Treat THND as if it is your own. A lot of effort has been made to provide a great experience and we maintain that experience for each guest with your help.

  8. Yes, this is a rule... Have a GREAT time and please notify your host of any issues or concerns, especially if you're not having a 5-star stay. No exceptions. :)

Check-In Instructions

  1. Your door code will be delivered via your booking platform messaging service prior to your arrival. This code is only valid during your stay and will be automatically deleted upon checkout.

  2. Please briefly review the condition of the house, contact us immediately if any issues are identified. More importantly, get to know where everything is and ask questions if you're looking for something in particular.

  3. Please treat our home as you would your own. Be mindful that we do deep cleans between guests and your help is appreciated keeping the house clean. We may only have a short 4–hour window to change all bedding, complete laundry, complete dishwashing, replace trash bags, reset furniture, and clean every room with high attention to detail.

 

Check-Out Instructions

  1. Please place all garbage in the garbage receptacles.

  2. Please strip bedding from beds used during your stay, including duvet covers, and place them into the hampers located in each closet.

  3. Please place all used towels in the hampers located in the bathroom or closets.

  4. Please place all used dishes into the dishwasher.

  5. Please re-place any small appliances used to their original locations, such as TV remotes, blender, toaster, coffee maker, hairdryer, or iron/ironing board.

  6. Please ensure the deadbolt has engaged upon departure for the security of the house.

  7. If possible, please start the dishwasher upon departure. Dish detergent pods are located under the kitchen sink.

  8. If possible, please start a load of laundry upon departure. Laundry detergent is located on the white wire shelf in the laundry room.

  9. If possible, place bags of trash in the trash curbie located on the side of the garage. Orange lid for recyclables (instructions on lid) and blue lid for general waste.​​

Location

The House Next Door is located in the Holland Heights neighborhood of Holland. Perfectly centered between interstate 196 exit 52 and downtown Holland, guests take advantage of the quiet neighborhood setting with just 5 minute travel times to pretty much everything they could need.
